"We joyfully proclaim Christ Jesus as Lord and faithfully seek to serve and encourage all people in His Name." Parish Mission Statement

"Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them."  Matthew 18:20

"To remain a welcoming Church where we continue to work and grow in our faith through worship and study in order to reach out to others in response to our faith." Parish Core Purpose

Parish Prayer

We praise you, O Lord, for you are good and your love endures forever.  You have done marvelous things in our lives, the greatest of which is sending your son, Jesus, to save us.  Help us to order our days so we spend more time with you.  Guide and empower us, through your Holy Spirit, to love and serve one another at St. John's and reach out boldly to other people beyond our community in the name of Jesus.  Give us courage to say "Yes" to your will, when it is not our own.  In so doing, we can know the joy of the blessings you have waiting for us.  Thank you, Father, for drawing us together as your children.  May all that we do bring glory to your Holy Name.  Amen.

A Prayer for Children

We pray for children everywhere: for those who give us both worry and joy; for those with fistfuls of dandelions who hug us in a hurry and forget their lunch money, spend their allowance before Tuesday, embarrass us in the grocery store and pick at their food. We love them even when they leave clothes on the floor, track mud across the kitchen floor and squirm in church.  Their tears make us laugh and their smiles make us cry. They are those on whom we never give up and we trust they won’t give up on us.

We pray for their growing minds and inquisitive spirits and for all their hopes and dreams. Help us to teach them about love, especially that love we know in Jesus. Grant that we teach them to be honest and faithful by being honest and faithful to them. Guide their imaginations and channel their growing independence into the way of your Son, Jesus Christ in whose name we offer up this prayer.  Amen.
